A Little Inspiration to Keep Me Going

*nope, this is not my work - design by Amy Atlas Events and pic by Andrew McCaul

We are working on our products all week for our dessert table presentation on Thursday. It is basically a four day test and could make some people (ahem) obsess a little. Seriously, it's crazy-making but fun to be able to pick what we want to make for a change, put our own spin on it, and present it in a way that shows our style.

When I need inspiration, I head over to Amy Atlas Events' website and blog to get ideas and to remember what I'm shooting for (not that this little ol' beginning pastry student can compare - YET.) Check out the pic above - so cool!

Art-A-Whirl This Weekend

Well, I was hoping to make it to a few studios this weekend to check out some local art. However, due to a terrible cold that won't release it's iron grip, it looks like my head is the only whirling I will be experiencing.

Floranova at Macy's

Technically, Spring may have sprung but the only flowers around here are the ones found indoors.

I really enjoyed these sculptures - created by Heart of the Beast Puppet Theatre. Every year I look forward to the May Day parade that they sponsor. I've been to one on their performances, too, and the puppeteers are amazing. You can find out more info about May Day at their website: http://www.hobt.org/

No Coast Craft-o-rama

For the third year, this awesome craft show will be at the Midtown Global Market in Minneapolis. It runs this Friday and Saturday. I am considering going but am concerned about my ability to look and not buy. However, both crafts and the Market are pretty awesome so it is hard for me to pass up the chance to combine them. Maybe I will just bring a limited amount of cash and leave all plastic at home - that might work. Anyway, more info can be found here:
