Country Living Magazine

Here are some photos from Country Living's website. My sister got me a subscription to the magazine for Christmas. I know it doesn't sound promising; it sounds chock full of quilting, antiquing, and twig crafts. And there are some antiquing tips but it is also full of good recipes (like the chocolate bark pictured above) and decorating ideas (like the picture below). I have eclectic taste, I guess, since I also like urban modern stuff. I guess if I had to describe my style I would say I'm a little bit country and a little bit rock n' roll - just like Donnie and Marie! I think I just dated myself, for sure. Anyway, you can check out the magazine;s website here: www.countryliving.com

Both these pics are courtesy of the Country Living website.

Marie Claire Idees

I will spotlight some cool French things in honor of Bastille Day - like this magazine and blog, Marie Claire Idees! It is kind of a hipper, european version of Martha Stewart. I can read some of it, but you can get tons of ideas just by looking at the pictures.

Cloth Paper Scissors

I've been neglecting my poor blog. I'm going to try to post three times a week for the month of July. I'm also going to be moving at the end of July, so we'll see how feasible that really is.

Anyway, I've discovered a new magazine on which to squander my money. It's called Cloth Paper Scissors (http://www.clothpaperscissors.com/) I think it is geared toward people who do a lot of quilting or collaging but it has some inspiring ideas and techniques (although a lot of stuff they spotlight isn't quite my style). In the current issue there are articles about keeping a visual journal, making Artist Trading Cards with felt, tips on balancing life and art, and how to do monoprinting with actual flowers and leaves.
